Do you have a story to share with OnMyWay?

At OnMyWay, our mission is to change the culture on the roads and “unplug” from our cell phones to ensure we’re keeping ourselves and others safe on the road. We have found that it is a lot easier to make people change their behavior when they are being rewarded! By incentivizing our users, they are more likely to stay off their mobile device and keep their focus on the road – where it should be!

We do what we do for all the families that have had to endure pain from a distracted driving tragedy. These senseless accidents affect real people with real families and we want to remind people of that. While the rewards are great, we do what we do to prevent crashes and ultimately, save lives. Since our founding last year, we have saved over 141 lives AND prevented over 21,000 car crashes – with a mathematical certainty. We know we can save families from having to go through the immense pain of loss. No text is worth a life.

Have you or a loved one been affected by a distracted driver? We want to hear / share your story! Last month, we launched the “Real People” section to the app/website. By reminding our users of these incidents, we can make real change. We launched this section with the story of Allie Estelle White, a beautiful 2-year-old girl who lost her life far too soon when a distracted driver hit her while sending a text. During the month of December, we added Allie’s story to the app/website, with the foundation her parents started in her memory hyperlinked. We also posted about Allie on all of our social media platforms and blog. OnMyWay additionally donated $10,000 worth of travel vouchers when you referred a friend to OnMyWay in Allie’s honor. We want to do the same for you! With our network of users, we can drive traffic to your foundation site and make more people aware of your story.

Distracted driving crackdown planned for January – Download OnMyWay!

Oklahoma Highway Patrol will be cracking down on distracted drivers the last two weeks of January. This extra enforcement is in honor of Trooper Nicholas Dees who was killed by a distracted driver in 2015. Oklahoma banned the use of cellphones to compose, send, or read a text message while a car is in motion on November 1, 2015, in response to Trooper Dees’ death. According to OHP, in 2019 there were more than 8,600 crashes involving a distracted driver, killing 41 people and seriously injuring 240 more. Troopers will spend the last two weeks of January looking for distracted drivers and issuing tickets and warnings for those violations.

If you live in Oklahoma, don’t let this affect you! Driving with OnMyWay ensures that you are keeping yourself and others safe on the roads. Since our founding in October 2019, we have saved over 140 lives and prevented over 21,000 car accidents – with a mathematical certainty. Users earn for every mile they don’t text and drive. You can even earn for all your referrals miles too! The more referrals you have = the faster you’re earning. “Hello everyone my name is Shelly Wolfe! First I would like to say thank you to OnMyWay for giving me the opportunity to make a difference out here on the highway’s and for allowing me to make an extra $1000. Yes I was skeptical like a lot of people but I thought what do I have to loose so I kept plucking along and keeping my phone locked and I eventually earned $1000 cash . It took me about 14 months ( I am a truck driver) it would have taken me less than a year but I was laid off because of covid for almost 2 months then I was on vacation for 2 weeks. All in all I think OnMyWay is awesome and now I am sharing it with my truck driving friends. Good luck and let’s all do our part out here on the highway by not driving distracted! :)”

Thanks to Shelly and millions of users like her, we are making real change on the roads! Make 2021 the year distracted driving becomes a thing of the past. To download OnMyWay now, click here.

Real People. Real Families. Real Stories. The Story of Keri Anne DeMott

Keri Anne had a passion for making others happy; whether it was through her artwork, volunteering her time, or simply making people laugh, Keri had a mission to change the world with her infectious smile and selfless personality.

Keri was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority while attending the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, where she spent much of her time volunteering and inspiring her peers to make the world a better place. She continued to study Sociology after transferring to the University of Central Florida her sophomore year.

Keri hoped to become a social worker to help children and families in need. She was an avid beach goer, a talented artist, a loyal friend, and she is loved by many.

On April 22nd, 2016, the man responsible for taking Keri Anne’s life was sentenced to the mandatory 15 years in the Florida Department of Corrections, and his driver’s license was revoked for life.

The Keri Anne DeMott Foundation was started by the DeMott family to honor Keri’s memory and to share her story, with the goal to one day end drunk, impaired, and distracted driving. The foundation will continue Keri’s passion of helping others by giving back to local community groups and national organizations that inspire, motivate, and help others.

Keri’s father and foundation founder, Bill, travels nationwide speaking to law enforcement, schools, colleges, and various community groups sharing Keri’s story in order to make younger generations more aware of how the decisions they make every day can have a significant impact on the lives of those around them.

Bill’s touching message and powerful delivery are the cornerstone of the #KeriAnneDeMottMatters Campaign; it inspires individuals to make the right decisions and change the world in the process.

On October 10th, 2015 Keri was hit head-on and tragically killed by a multiple offender

She was only 20 years old.

Self-Driving cars may be on trend – but texting and driving will never be!

We all knew there would come a time in the future where cars would drive themselves. Just another added convenience to our already very convenient lives. With Tesla leading this trend, it begs the question: If my car is driving, can I text?

The answer is no! Although your car may be doing most of the driving you’re used to, you still need to focus on the roads around you! That’s where
OnMyWay comes in! With OnMyWay you can earn for every mile you drive (or don’t drive) undistracted. The cash accumulated can be redeemed for things such as product discounts, special product financing, travel rewards and even cash payouts when certain milestones are hit!

Federal Data Shows Trucking Remains One of America’s Deadliest Jobs – OnMyWay is working to change that!

Trucking remains one of the deadliest occupations, according to the latest federal data on workplace deaths.  More than one of every seven on-the-job deaths occur in heavy-duty trucking, according to the recently released National Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries.

A variety of factors contribute to the high rate of trucker deaths, said Steve Williams, chief executive of Maverick USA, a Little Rock, Ark., motor carrier and the president of The Alliance for Driver Safety & Security.

“Without a doubt, we recognize that there are too many avoidable injuries and fatalities in the industry. We support the idea to have zero fatalities, and it is a realistic goal,” Williams said.

An important safety factor would be stricter law enforcement and better educational efforts to reduce distracted driving by those operating passenger vehicles. Williams said Maverick drivers looking down from their truck cabs at the traffic surrounding them frequently see light vehicle drivers texting and conducting other tasks besides driving.

That is where OnMyWay comes in! OnMyWay is the #1 distracted driving app in the nation. In just over a year, we have saved over 140 lives and prevented over 21,000 car accidents – with a mathematical certainty. Our job is not done until distracted driving is a thing of the past and the culture on the roads has changed. We need to put an end to these fatalities and what better way than to be incentivized?

Roanoke County police issue more than 20 tickets for distracted driving in first week of new law – OnMyWay is here to help!

Roanoke County police have given out 21 tickets for distracted driving since a new law banning cell phone use went into effect on Jan. 1.

Since the law was passed last summer, officers have been focusing on educating drivers on safe driving.

Officers said the new law has an emphasis on safety.

“You shouldn’t be looking at your phone while you’re driving down the road, just is, you know, it’s no different than you see people during their morning commute putting on makeup or reading a newspaper or, you know, having breakfast with both hands, you know, pullover drive if you’re going to drive, and use your hands if you’re going to use your hands,” Roanoke County Police Officer Thurman Butts said.

Those who violate the law could face fines of up to $250! Save your money AND make an impact in your community with OnMyWay.

Do you have a story to share with OnMyWay?

Since OnMyWay’s founding, our mission has been to end distracted driving. We found that through incentivizing our users, real change is happening! Although the rewards are a great part of OnMyWay, we do what we do for all of the families who have lost a loved one to or have been affected by distracted driving. It is important to us that we honor the memory of those lost while educating users in hopes that one day texting and driving will be a thing of the past.

Last month, OnMyWay launched a “Real People” section on our website/app, which highlights stories of those that have been affected by distracted driving incidents. We launched this section with the story of 2 year old Allie Estelle White who was tragically killed last year when a driver was on the phone behind the wheel. The distracted driving trend cannot continue.

By adding Allie’s story to our blog/real people page, highlighting her in the app and honoring her every year on her birthday – we are constantly reminding people that distracted driving affects real people with real families. We also gave away thousands of dollars worth of travel vouchers when users referred a friend in Allie’s honor.

Do you have a story to tell? We want to be able to do the same for you! By getting your story in front of millions of users, we can drive traffic to your website and share your mission. Together we can work towards ending distracted driving.
